The Intermediate Phase of the Certificate Program in Sanskrit Proficiency offered by Samskrita Bharati USA is designed to help learners gain a deeper understanding of the Sanskrit language. It is the second of three phases in the Certificate Program, following the Beginner Phase, and consists of four quarters, each worth 1.5 credit hours, with a total of 60 hours of instruction and 120 hours of self-study.
During this program, learners will study four courses, namely Learn Sanskrit – Stories & Songs (SAN0201), Learn Sanskrit – Words and Phrases (SAN02022), Learn Sanskrit – Vocabulary & Structure (SAN0203), and Learn Sanskrit – Nouns and Declensions (SAN0204). These courses are designed to help learners read, write, and compose simple passages, as well as engage in basic conversations in Sanskrit.
The Intermediate Phase of the Certificate Program in Sanskrit Proficiency assumes that learners have completed the Beginner Phase of the program and is taught in English, making it accessible to learners from all over the world. The program is specifically designed for high school students and adults who wish to gain a deep understanding of Sanskrit and use it when studying Hinduism’s texts and literature and its many related knowledge systems.
