ITIL V3 and ITIL V4 are two versions of this framework that have significant differences. ITIL V3 was first introduced in 2007, while ITIL V4 was released in 2019. ITIL V3 focuses on the service lifecycle, which includes five stages: service strategy, service design, service transition, service operation, and continual service improvement. On the other hand, ITIL V4 adopts a more holistic approach, which includes the four dimensions of service management: organizations and people, information and technology, partners and suppliers, and value streams and processes.
